Quality Assurance as a Service: Why Smart Manufacturers Choose US Metal Crafters

When you’re sourcing fabricated metal parts for data centers, heavy equipment, or high-volume OEM production, one thing matters more than anything: quality. According to the American Society for Quality, poor quality can consume up to 20% of annual revenue.1 We’re here to keep that off your books.

At US Metal Crafters, quality isn’t something we inspect for, it’s something we build in. Every CNC laser cut, precision bend, robotic weld, and powder-coated finish is crafted in-house at our Archdale, NC facility. That’s not just capability, it’s confidence.

Everything You Need. All Under One Roof.

From laser cutting and metal forming to robotic welding, powder coating, and final assembly—we do it all under one roof. That means faster turnaround, fewer handoffs, tighter quality control, and a seamless production process. This is what we call Quality Assurance as a Service (QAaaS) and it’s how we deliver consistent, spec-perfect results.

What Is “Quality Assurance as a Service”?

We don’t wait until something goes wrong to fix it. Our QAaaS model is built to prevent issues before they happen. Here’s how we do it:

  • 3D scanning inspection system to detect deviations in real time
  • Material verification tools to confirm precise composition
  • Four-tier QA review process—from operator to general manager
  • Live KPI dashboards for tracking performance and accountability
  • Robotic welding systems with Yaskawa robotic welder controllers and synchronized positioners for first-pass accuracy

This embedded QA process means kess crap, less scrap, less rework, and more trust—saving you time and money.

Why It Matters

  • Protect Your Profit Margin
Scrap, rework, and returns eat into your bottom line. Our prevention-first approach turns lost time into uptime.
  • Accelerate Your Time-to-Market
McKinsey reports that quality-first manufacturers cut time-to-market by up to 30%2. Our integrated QA ensures you get production-ready parts—fast.
  • Maintain Compliance with Confidence
Whether you’re in defense, energy, or aerospace, traceability and documentation aren’t optional. Our audit-ready processes give you peace of mind.
  • Strengthen Your Supply Chain
Consistent quality builds trust. That trust drives long-term partnerships and reduces the need for secondary inspections on your receiving dock.

What Sets US Metal Crafters Apart?

We’re not a job shop—we’re your American-made, vertically integrated fabrication partner. Everything happens at our North Carolina facility:

  • Precision Laser Cutting: Tolerances as tight as 0.003–0.006mm
  • Certified Welding Professionals + Robotic Welding
  • In-House Powder Coating for full control from raw material to final assembly
  • Centralized QA Checkpoints that eliminate costly handoffs

Build It Right. Build It With USMC.

Sourcing metal parts shouldn’t feel like a gamble. With US Metal Crafters, you get a partner who delivers on precision, speed, and reliability—every time, every step.

Making a Difference One Shoebox at a Time

Founded in 1970, Samaritan’s Purse is dedicated to aiding the world’s poor, sick, and suffering. Their global outreach efforts strive to help those who may be victims of war, poverty, natural disasters, disease, and famine. By providing food, medicine, and other types of assistance to those in desperate need, they accomplish their mission of providing spiritual and physical aid to hurting people worldwide. One of Samaritan’s Purse’s flagship efforts is Operation Christmas Child, or OCC, a project that benefits children worldwide.

Donate Here

Since 1993, Samaritan’s Purse has worked to collect shoeboxes and fill them with essentials, as well as special treats for children around the world. Each box contains toys, hygiene items, school supplies, and other sundries these children would not otherwise receive. In fact, for the more than 220 million children that have received a shoebox from Operation Christmas Child since the project’s inception, it is the first gift that they have ever received. Packed and sent by volunteers, the shoeboxes are a physical manifestation of the love and care that these children so richly deserve.

At US-Companies, we are proud to support OCC and have embraced the project as a cornerstone of our corporate culture. We have integrated it as a new tradition at our locations, setting aside time each year for our employees to help pack shoeboxes. This tradition allows us to give back meaningfully during the holiday season, when so many of us are compelled to show compassion and generosity to our communities.

Last year, we packed 2100 shoeboxes, and we cannot wait to continue to give back this year. Packing these boxes is a team effort, and the camaraderie and joy we all feel while packaging these treasures is truly contagious. Our annual packing event will take place in November, and this year, we have set a goal to pack at least 3000 boxes. We are determined to reach this goal. With the help of our community and team, we have already begun planning and acquiring supplies, and we are certain that this year’s packing event will be a success.

Based on Samaritan’s Purse’s national average, it will cost approximately $110,000 to fill and ship these 3000 shoeboxes. We have pledged company resources and launched internal fundraising efforts, but we still need help to reach our goal. We invite anyone who would like to contribute to visit our fundraising page to learn more about OCC. Every donation helps, and together, we can affect change in the lives of these deserving children.

The Power of A Shoe Box

Many of us don’t understand the power of a shoe box.

Our companies believe in making a difference, especially during the holiday season. Last year, we set an ambitious goal to fill 3,000 Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes with essential items and toys for children around the world. Thanks to the dedication of our team and community, we managed to fill 2,100 shoeboxes. However, we fell short of our goal.

This year, we are determined to reach our target of filling and shipping 3,000 shoe boxes. Samaritan’s Purse estimates that it will cost us approximately $110,000 to fill and ship the 3,000 shoe boxes, and we are inviting you to participate in making this a success.  We are starting earlier this year and have made it easier for you to donate to the cause.

  • Online Contribution: Visit our dedicated donation page on Samaritan’s Purse using the following link to contribute towards the shipping costs of 3000 boxes, estimated to be $30,000.  US Companies Operation Christmas Child 2024’s fundraising page for Samaritan’s Purse (samaritanspurse.org)
  • Invoice Contribution: When making a purchase from us, you can choose to have a line item added to your invoice for an Operation Christmas Child contribution.  This contribution will go directly to covering the costs of filling the shoeboxes with items for the children. Simply ask your sales contact to add an OCC line item to your invoice.
  • Discount Contribution: As a valued vendor, you have the unique opportunity to contribute by offering a discount on the invoices being paid to you by us. This discount will be applied as a contribution towards the Operation Christmas Child project, helping us fill and ship more shoeboxes. If you would like to participate, please let us know and have the discount to our invoice labeled as “OCC.”

A Story of Hope: From Sudan to Smiles

You may remember receiving an email last year with the story of Abraham, an employee of US Duct/US Metal Crafters, whose life was profoundly touched by a simple shoebox. Abraham, who now lives in High Point, NC, experienced unimaginable hardship as a child and understands the power of a shoebox more than we can imagine.

In 1987, at just five years old, Abraham was forced to flee his home in war-torn Sudan. Alongside countless other “lost boys,” he embarked on a harrowing journey, walking hundreds of miles to reach safety in refugee camps. For years, Abraham lived in these camps under dire conditions, with little food, shelter, or hope. But in December 1995, his life took a miraculous turn.

On a day like any other, filled with the usual struggles of refugee life, a stranger handed Abraham a shoebox and said, “Merry Christmas.” Inside that shoebox were simple items—a few pencils, a toothbrush, some paper—but to Abraham, they were treasures. These small gifts brought him immense joy and a sense of belonging he hadn’t felt in years. They were a tangible reminder that somewhere, someone cared about him.

Now, 29 years later, Abraham is a father of four, living a fulfilling life in the United States. He never forgot the impact of that shoebox, and he continues to give back by supporting Operation Christmas Child. Abraham’s story is a testament to the lasting impact of a small act of kindness.  Abraham was even featured on the local news and shared his story.

Join Us in Spreading Joy and Hope

This year, we invite you to join us in our mission to bring joy to 3,000 children like Abraham. We will be filling and packing the boxes again onsite in November, and your contribution will help us put these shoeboxes in the hands of children around the world. Each box is filled with essential items and gifts that can transform a child’s life, offering hope and a reminder that they are not forgotten.

Your support will help us create countless smiles and bring hope to children facing unimaginable challenges. Please consider contributing today to help us reach our goal. Together, we can make a difference, one shoebox at a time.

Thank you for your generosity and for helping us spread the true spirit of Christmas.

-Steve McDaniel, President
